Great review! I’m paticularly interested in what you say about the misconceptions we hold about the maligned Vikings compared with the Saxons.

Thanks, Alex. I’ve been doing a bit of reading here and there about the Vikings, and as barbaric as they were in their conquests, it’s nice to read more about their culture and social structure.

Lovely review, Noelle. I went to a Viking museum, years ago in York, UK, and was surprised at how domestic they were.

This book sounds really good, Noelle. I’ve been reading and watching a whole lot of Viking stories lately and just can’t seem to get enough of this interesting culture and how successful they were in expanding across Europe and beyond. The role of women was impressive, wasn’t it? Too bad the Christians wanted none of that malarkey. Thanks for sharing your amazing review, and congrats to the author. A beautiful cover too. 🙂

Thanks, Diana. When I got my genetic analysis, I had a contribution from northern England with a bit of Norway in there – gotta be the Vikings!

I had the same result, Noelle. I can’t remember the percentage, but it was up there. Even my African American husband has Viking DNA! Lol
